Trip enjoys trying to vacuum, so I wanted to incorporate that into our activities in a new way. In thinking about it one morning, I suddenly had the idea to scatter some tiny alphabet noodles (the kind you find in the Mexican food aisle for about 50 cents a bag) on the floor and let him vacuum them up. It was a hit! He loved using the hose to clean up our little noodle messes.
We started off next to the table, where I put about a teaspoon of letters on the floor.
Trip started vacuuming, but then grabbed some of the noodles and headed for his room, saying he wanted to clean them up there.
I followed with the vacuum and a few more letters.
He worked very diligently to suck them up and had a great time with this game. Once most of the letters were gone, I could point to one and say, "Look, there's an S that needs to be vacuumed!" and he would get right to it.
What a great idea! It's funny that he loves to vacuum. Connor used to love the vacuum so much, and he actually named it Corey :D
